BEAR Scotland is to host two recruitment events with some 40 new roles available across South-East Scotland.
The roles BEAR Scotland is recruiting for include highway maintenance operatives and winter service drivers; as well as various engineering roles including Roads, Bridges and Road Safety Engineers and Technicians, Graduate Engineers, Safety Inspectors and trainee Engineers and Technicians.
The trunk road operating company is hosting recruitment open evenings in Newtongrange and Queensferry, and there will also be information available for anyone interested in opportunities across the wider area of the South East:
• Newtongrange, Tuesday 15 November, 4:30-8pm, The Dean Tavern, Main Street
• Queensferry, Thursday 17 November, 4:30-8pm, Forth Bridges Contact & Education Centre, Ferrymuir Gait
In 2020 BEAR Scotland began an eight-year contract to manage and maintain the trunk road network in South-East Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland. This covers 506km of trunk roads through some of the busiest sections of the country, from central Scotland to through the Scottish Borders. As well as the M8, M9, M80 and A720 Edinburgh City Bypass, the unit also includes the A1 Edinburgh-Berwick, the A68 Edinburgh to Carter bar, the A7 from Galashiels to Canonbie and the A702 Edinburgh to Abington. As well as a large section of the M8 connecting Edinburgh to Glasgow. The South-East Unit also includes 870 bridges and structures including the iconic Queensferry Crossing and Forth Road Bridge.
