The JR Group has announced a Meet The Buyer event in Hawick, ahead of the business starting its inaugural project with Scottish Borders Housing Association (SBHA) in January 2024.
Taking place on Thursday 23rd November at Burnfoot Community Hub, 89 Burnfoot Road, Hawick, TD9 8EJ between 10am and 2pm, the business is looking to welcome local suppliers and sub-contractors covering all areas of construction.
With nearly 30 years of experience, The JR Group works with some of the biggest local authorities and housing associations in the country. The Group is working with Scottish Borders Housing Association to deliver 16 new homes within the Burnfoot community in Hawick.
The senior team will be on-hand throughout the day to share the plans for the upcoming project, and to meet local sub-contractors and suppliers, in a bid for them to become part of its approved supply chain and help deliver the project successfully.
Local businesses will also have the opportunity to speak to the team about timescales and requirements for the upcoming project.
Sandra Lindsay, Development Director for The JR Group, said: "We are thrilled to be hosting our Meet the Buyer event in Hawick on 23rd November to meet fresh and local talent in the Borders to help us deliver this exciting first project with Scottish Borders Housing Association.
"It is a great way for us to introduce The JR Group to local SMEs and reach out to new subcontractors and suppliers within the local area.
"We pride ourselves on being a strong working partner, and where possible we are keen to use local teams to help deliver the projects. All we ask is that they leave their organisation details with us so we can follow up with tender documents to allow them the opportunity to work with us now and in the future.
"We would urge anyone interested to come along and speak with us on the day."
Emma Garry, Director of Development at SBHA, said: "We are really pleased to be working with the JR Group to deliver this project and are delighted at their commitment to engage and work with local suppliers and sub-contractors.
"It's hugely important to SBHA that we get the maximum local benefit from our investment plans and JR Group have understood this commitment and are proactively trying to help us to achieve it.
"I encourage all local suppliers and sub-contractors to attend the event to learn more about the project and the opportunities it will present."
