Kingdom Housing Association (KHA) has won two prestigious awards at the CIH Scotland Housing Awards, the country's annual awards for excellence in housing
KHA, part of the Kingdom Group, lifted the top prizes for 'Excellence in Development for Affordable Housing' in partnership with Clackmannanshire Council, and 'Housing-led Approaches to Ending Homelessness' for the Naumann Initiative.
At a gala event held in Glasgow, the CIH Scotland Housing Awards recognised and celebrated the individuals, organisations and projects that have made a difference to tenants, customers and communities across the country over the last year.
Kingdom Housing Association, working in partnership with Clackmannanshire Council, was honoured with the 'Excellence in Development for Affordable Housing' award for Primrose Place, in Alloa. The development of 60 dementia-friendly homes has been designed to support Clackmannanshire Council's sustainable ageing policy, helping people live independently in their homes for longer.
Councillor Jane McTaggart, Clackmannanshire Council's spokesperson for housing and property, said: "Partnership working is a key value for the Council and Primrose Place is a fantastic example of this in action. This project transformed a derelict site in Alloa town centre into 60 dementia-friendly, modern properties, designed to ensure the residents there will live full, independent lives at home for as long as possible. I am delighted this innovative development has won this prestigious award and congratulate everyone involved in its planning and delivery."
The Naumann Initiative, Kingdom's groundbreaking approach to tackling unemployment and homelessness, won the award for 'Housing-led Approached to Ending Homelessness'. The Naumann Initiative is aimed at breaking the vicious cycle of homelessness and unemployment by giving a homeless person a job, and support with any complex needs or barriers to sustaining their tenancy. It demonstrates an exceptional commitment to implementing effective strategies and solutions to address homelessness in the sector.
Tom Barclay, Kingdom Group Chief Executive, said: "I'm delighted to see the hard work, dedication and commitment of the team at Kingdom, and of our partners at Clackmannanshire Council, recognised at the CIH Scotland Housing Awards. At Kingdom we know that working together allows us to do more, achieve more and deliver more for our customers and our communities. Kingdom has always been about so much more than just bricks and mortar and these awards highlight our commitment to providing more than a home."
