Robertson joined NHS Forth Valley to mark a significant stage in the development of the Clackmannanshire Community Health Hospital.
The £20m project, which includes a replacement for the Alloa Health Centre, is being delivered by three companies from the construction, development and services group, Robertson. Robertson Capital Projects is acting as overall project manager and investor, Robertson Central is undertaking the design and build contract and Robertson Facilities Management will provide a range of management services throughout the project's 30 year duration.
The project underpins Robertson's position in the Scottish primary healthcare PPP market, where it has already delivered five hospitals including the new £19m Gartnavel Royal Hospital in Glasgow.
Robertson executive chairman Bill Robertson said: "It is fitting that Robertson can be in attendance today with its partners at NHS Forth Valley to mark a significant stage in the construction phase of this landmark project.
"Robertson has a strong history of delivering healthcare projects in partnership with the NHS, and this latest development will provide modern and appropriate facilities for health-care provision."
Designed by Glasgow-based HLM architects, the new Community Hospital and replacement Alloa health centre is being built on the site of the former Sauchie Hospital in Alloa.
The replacement health centre will see approximately 800 patients each day and provide a range of primary care service to the 25,000 people of Alloa.
Services will include three GP practices, community nursing services, treatment room services, chiropody, dental, physiotherapy, out-patient clinics and pharmacy services.
The Community Hospital will provide a range of services to the wider population of Clackmannanshire.
These will include 45 in-patient beds for physically frail older people, mentally frail older people, including provision for intermediate care and rehabilitation, palliative care and continuing care of those with complex needs as well as forty day services places for older people and people with mental health problems and a base for the community mental health teams, other community services and a base for Social work teams.
