Manorlane has been granted permission by East Renfrewshire Council to develop its prestigious £90m development at Greenlaw, Newton Mearns.
Manorlane plans to build 162 high specification four, five and six-bedroom executive homes on two sites located in the prestigious area of Newton Mearns, seven miles southwest of Glasgow city centre and adjacent to junction 4 of the M77. In addition, Manorlane will sell a limited number of exclusive self build plots on part of the site.
Covering a combined area of over 30 acres, the sites are part of a 119-acre initiative which is being redeveloped by the Greenlaw Consortium, comprising Elphinstone Land and a group of housebuilders including Manorlane.
The mixed-use development will include over 350 homes, a new business park with 410,000 sq ft of office space, neighbourhood shops, leisure facilities including a 120 bed 4-star hotel and a primary school.
Ilia Robertson, Sales & Marketing Director, Manorlane, said: "We are delighted to have received planning consent at Greenlaw, Newton Mearns. This decision by East Renfrewshire Council marks the beginning of what will be an extremely exciting development.
"We are confident that homebuyers will be impressed by the design and quality of our homes. Adding to the appeal is the excellent schooling in the area, both at primary and secondary level and the site's proximity to Glasgow city centre, and with Patterton train station only a short walk from the development, we expect there to be considerable interest."
Work is expected to start on site in June 2008. The Greenlaw consortium is currently investing £24m on infrastructure works to include substantial improvements to the local road network to improve road safety; upgrading of gas, water, electricity, telecoms and drainage services; as well as additional car parking spaces at Patterton railway station.
