Around 4.2 acres of land in Sighthill industrial estate has come on the market after international property developer, Blackrock Land (UK) Plc, appointed Knight Frank to dispose of the site.
Extending to 4.19 acres, the site at Bankhead Way, is expected to appeal to a variety of commercial and industrial businesses looking for a large site close to excellent transport links.
Outline planning consent has already been given by City of Edinburgh Council for office, industrial, storage and distribution use, as well as motor trade at the southern end of the site, which has been sold to Volkswagen Group UK Limited for the development of a new Audi car showroom and workshop.
It is anticipated that this could signal the way for other motor traders looking for a prime location within an established car showroom location. Its strategic West Edinburgh location close to the main arterial route of Calder Road and the City Bypass make it perfectly suited for occupiers and operators looking for the drive-through traffic or those wanting to benefit from its close proximity to the M8 and M9 and Edinburgh Airport
Adam Shaw, associate at Knight Frank in Edinburgh said: "This is an excellent location which is already popular with a wide variety of businesses. The close proximity of main arterial routes lends the site to those organisations looking for good transport links.
"Much of Sighthill is already used by the motor trade and for business use but it would also suit commercial premises as well as large-scale trade stores. This is a sizeable piece of land which benefits from outline planning permission for a number of uses so we are expecting interest from a range of professions and businesses. It is very rare that a site of this size becomes available to buy within the area."
