Strathleven Regeneration Company and development partners Walker Group has confirmed that construction of Dumbarton's £60m mixed used development is on schedule and outlined the next stages for Lomondgate.
Welcoming David Hastings to the post of Executive Director with Strathleven Regeneration Company, Bruce Walker, Managing Director of the Walker Group, emphasised the significant impact Lomondgate will have on the local area.
Mr Walker said: "The ground work required to develop a 100 acre site is extensive but we are extremely pleased with the progress of works which is now starting to take shape. Major road works, which included the creation of a new roundabout on the A82, as well as the replacement of traffic signals, a new pelican crossing, and the widening of lanes will be completed by August, creating the necessary infrastructure for the development."
Media personnel, stakeholders and other interested parties took to the air in a helicopter to gain a bird's eye view of the progress so far at Lomondgate, pictured.
Within the nine acres of roadside services located adjacent to the Business Park, Whitbread is to build a 60-bed Premier Travel hotel and Brewers Fayre family restaurant and has now received its provisional license and is awaiting detailed planning consent.
A detailed planning application has also been submitted by Walker Group to West Dunbartonshire Council to build 108 homes. The residential element of Lomondgate will span 30 acres and negotiations are also underway with other developers to create the remaining 200 homes.
