To ensure maximum support for its customer base in the run up to the 2012 London Olympics, CMS Specialist Geotechnical Solutions has opened a new 15,000 square foot regional distribution centre (RDC) in the south of England. Based in Wickford, this fully stocked and technically staffed facility is equipped to service the increased demand for geotechnical design and product supply, in the infrastructure and general construction markets.
Stock will be available on the ground for all core products, including the CMS range of ground reinforcing geogrids and erosion control geotextile systems. As well as guaranteed product supply, CMS is offering same day order collection or delivery to site using its own fleet of vehicles.
Richard Longbottom, technical sales director, CMS Specialist Geotechnical Solutions, comments: "Improving the nationwide infrastructure will be critical in the run up to the 2012 Olympics. We've opened a southern distribution centre, which replicates our existing northern model, to enable us to efficiently respond to our customers' ground reinforcement requirements - wherever they are in the UK. We also offer the widest choice of geotechnical products from a single source, which means we will always be able to offer the most cost effective solution for a specific requirement."
An in-house design team will be based at Wickford RDC and supported by a mobile technical sales department. These geotechnical specialists are trained to value engineer any existing system specification and will respond to any ground reinforcement requirements with cost effective and high performing solution.
