For the fourth year in succession, Lovell has won the Gold RoSPA Occupational Health & Safety Award for maintaining high standards of health and safety management at its construction sites and offices in Scotland.

The awards are presented annually to companies which demonstrate they have effective health and safety management systems in place and are focused on achieving high performance standards.

RoSPA awards manager, David Rawlins said: "Lovell has shown a commitment to protecting the health and well-being of its employees and others. We hope other businesses and organisations will follow its lead and strive for continuous improvement in health and safety management."

The company's high standards of health and safety have also been recognised by the presentation of the British Safety Council International Safety Award to three of its projects.

The award-winning projects included two schemes for Glasgow Housing Association, a programme to overclad blocks of flats with new roofs and insulated render to the walls and a large-scale roof and rendering project. The third scheme to pick up a BSC International Safety Award was a project to build 54 environmentally-friendly homes for East Lothian Housing Association in Windygoul, Tranent.

Lovell regional director, Alan Taylor, said: "Our success in securing the award for the fourth year and in winning three British Safety Council International Safety Awards is a tribute to the hard work and commitment of our health and safety team, our site teams and our contractor partners."
