Tait Security, a division of Glasgow-based Tait Group, is expanding into the North-east with the opening of an Aberdeen trade counter and distribution centre.
The firm, which is the fastest growing supplier of both IP and traditional security products in Scotland, aims to increase turnover to £4m with the opening of a new base in Altens. As business develops, it aims to recruit further staff in 2008 to add to the Aberdeen team.
Tait Security supplies a range of equipment including CCTV, intruder detection, fire alarm systems and access control solutions, as well as structured cabling, a full range of data cabinets and network testing equipment.
Michael Tait, managing director, said: "We are delighted to continue our expansion with the opening of our facility in Aberdeen - we feel it is essential for us to have a presence in the city so we can tap into the fast growing market in the oil capital of Europe.
"We aim to target security installers, structured cabling installation firms, electrical contractors and facilities management companies. I am looking forward to the next stage of growth that Aberdeen offers."
With the British Chamber of Commerce reporting that 75% of business owners are concerned about security, Tait Security have said they will provide innovative security solutions with a range of over 4,000 products. They aim to take advantage of the projected growth in the security sector the company expand further, with more offices in the pipeline and a resultant increase in staff numbers.
The Tait Group has a turnover exceeding £5m.
