Fyfestone Announces Major Investment In Scottish Building Market

Fyfestone, part of the Aggregate Industries Group, is undertaking a £2.8m investment programme to improve its product and service offering for its customers in Scotland.

Despite a number of economic factors, such as the financial crisis in the banking sector and subsequent credit crunch putting greater pressure on the UK economy, the construction industry ended 2007 on a positive note, with modest growth set to continue during 2008.

Looking specifically at Scotland, a recent survey by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) found that the housing market in Scotland is bucking the UK trend of falling house prices.

The report also highlighted that Scotland is now outperforming London for the amount of new construction projects and demand for commercial property, such as offices and retail space.

Hamish Learmont, Fyfestone’s commercial manager for Scotland and the North of England, said: "Ultimately, this is good news for the Scottish building industry. Whether you are a national or regional house builder, an architect or specifier involved in either domestic or commercial property, or you are self builder working on your own projects, the outlook for 2008 and beyond is encouraging.

"As the leading manufacturer of architectural masonry for the Scottish building and construction market, Fyfestone is constantly looking at ways of improving its product and service offering to keep one step ahead of the competition."

Fyfestone offer a wide range of architectural masonry solutions.
