Scottish football teams have helped raised more than £11,500 for the Prostate Cancer charity, after battling it out in Rok's 5-a-side Real Man Charity Cup.
Players from building firm Rok were joined by teams from businesses across Scotland to compete in the regional tournament, with the winning team then going forward to play in the national final held in London.
The national competition was won by Glasgow Hoist and Access services, a supplier to Rok.
Prostate cancer is responsible for the deaths of 10,000 men in the UK each year.
Most men who are diagnosed with prostate cancer are over the age of 50 and men are more likely to get the disease if their father, brother or a close male relative has been diagnosed. The risk is also higher in African or African Caribbean men.
Early diagnosis can improve a man’s chances of finding a successful treatment, yet 90 per cent of adults in the UK do not know what the prostate gland does or where it is in the body.
The Prostate Cancer Charity is fighting to raise awareness of the disease through research, support information and campaigning.
Overall the national Rok Real Man Cup has raised more than £40,000 for the charity and helped raised awareness among the local community for the disease, its diagnosis and treatment.
George Fraser, Rok's managing director for Scotland, said: "As an employer with a high percentage of male employees we strongly support the Prostate Cancer Charity and the work it does to raise awareness of the disease.
"The charity football match was a great way for teams to work together and take part in a fun event, while raising valuable funds for the charity."
Garvis Snook, Chief Executive of Rok, is an ambassador of The Prostate Cancer Charity.
