Property development company SCOT Sheridan has announced the completion and immediate sale of its 45,700 sq ft light industrial development at Rutherglen, east of Glasgow.
The Clyde Gateway Urban Regeneration Company (URC) has purchased the entire
development, which is just 2.4 miles south-east of Glasgow city centre and 2 miles from
the planned Commonwealth Games village and new outdoor sports arena.
Rutherglen Park comprises 45,700 sq ft of high quality business accommodation in units of between 2,100 sq ft and 9,000 sq ft and was built by SCOT Sheridan on a speculative
basis.
The company had identified a lack of quality, modern business space in the area
and recognised the site's potential for businesses wishing to locate or relocate there,
particularly as a result of the forthcoming Commonwealth Games and the new M74
extension.
SCOT Sheridan Director, David MacLachlan, said: "The sale of our Rutherglen
development to Clyde Gateway confirms our confidence in both the site and our decision
to create what we believe is much-needed, high quality business space in the area. This
development has an enviable location with excellent transport links and we're confident
that it will play a significant part in helping to rejuvenate this important area."
Steve Pritchard, Executive Director of Development at Clyde Gateway added: "A key
element in our early work is to provide high-quality spaces which we can offer to
businesses and firms who require to be re-located as a result of the regeneration efforts
within the East End of Glasgow and parts of South Lanarkshire. These particular units at
Rutherglen Park will allow us to do this."
SCOT Sheridan was represented by the Glasgow offices of Ryden and DTZ.
