A company that fits windows, doors and conservatories all over Scotland is urging the trade not to just replace the fittings, but to recycle instead.
Enviro Windows do a special recycling of old windows and doors, which is something virtually unheard of in the industry and believed to be a major plus to the market place.
"Don't just throw them away, we can bring your old PVC windows back to as-new condition for a fraction of the cost," said Thomas Girvan of Enviro Windows in Clydebank.
"At Enviro we offer a recycling service which can completely revamp your windows, turning old, tired and discoloured PVC windows, into windows that most people would assume were brand new," he said.
Such recyclying of course helps the world's ecology too, but amid concerns over global warning, Enviro is also suggesting that the trade plays its part in cutting the energy used from non-renewable CO2 producing sources.
"An extremely effective way of doing this is to lower heat loss," continued Mr Girvan.
"Enviro Windows UK have found that homes fitted with old and draughty windows and doors are very wasteful and that a huge saving in energy bills is also achieved by changing to modern A-Rated energy windows.
"Fitting enviro windows and doors won't stop climate change of course, but it's a very long road and every little bit helps. Cutting energy use will also help save money in the long run too," he said.
All the company's commercial customers use Enviro's trade partner, Cash and Carry Superstores, based in Clydebank.
It provides the trade with Scotland's best selection of high performance trade windows, doors and conservatories," Thomas Girvan concluded.
