Residents, community councils and community representatives in the Aird and Loch Ness Ward have the opportunity to say what they think the area should be like in the future at the Aird and Loch Ness Ward Forum on Thursday 17th September.
During the meeting there will be an opportunity to discuss how the development of very important areas of the Ward, including development of local centres and key villages including Drumnadrochit, Fort Augustus, Beauly and Dores.
There will be a chance for anyone in attendance to have their say on the future of their Ward and Highland as a whole through an interactive discussion with members of the Development Plans Team.
Chairman of the Forum, Councillor Drew Hendry, commented: "It is vital that people understand the importance of the Highland Wide Local Development Plan and take the opportunity to consult on it.
"This plan will affect how local plans are developed and will affect things that will ultimately happen in your neighbourhood."
Malcolm Macleod, Development Plans Manager from the Council's Planning and Development Service, will be attending the Ward Forum to find out what local people think the main issues over the next 20 years will be and to explain more about how the Highland-wide Local Development Plan will be used to address these.
The new Northern Constabulary Area Commander for Inverness, Chief Inspector Andrew Maclean is also to attend to discuss issues of community safety. There is also a 20-minute open question and answer slot.
The meeting takes place at the Town house, Inverness, and begins at 7.00pm with doors open at 6.30pm.
